Long movie and worth watching for fans of historical fantasy films. This story has a religious theme but it is not a biblical movie because it develops characters that are very different than the story of Noah' Flood in the Old Testament. Crowe did a terrific job as Noah because his acting gave dramatic momentum for this semi-action film. Crowe's character aged throughout the film but Jennifer remained young, not one strand of grey hair. Rated it 5 stars based on Crowe's talents and its outstanding special effects.

the remake of "Left Behind" with Nicholas Cage comes to my mind. that film took a Biblical passage and turned it into a movie, which was about 2 on my rating. I was not disappointed in the New Testament, just the film. could of been more entertaining through special effects, computer generated images, etc. as for the Old Testament's narrative re Noah, well, the book is one thing and the film is another. bottom line, I give the film a 3, and do recommend it to others - as entertainment only. its just show biz, folks. enjoy.

Every culture has a flood myth, writing continues itself through more writing, embellishment etc. Cinema is a modern extension of this. James Joyce re-imagined the Odyssey with Ulysees, Aranofsky re-imagines the MYTH of Noah as written in the Old Testament (itself a collection of mythologies. Sorry, but there it is) and creates a decent action film. IT DIDNT REALLY HAPPEN!!!

Was surprised how shallow they thought Noah's understanding was. I think Noah had a much more profound grasp on Deity and His plan, not just another cave man like he was portrayed is this movie. Thought it could have been an amazing movie giving Noah more intelligence and greater relationship with Deity.

I didn't watch for very long. the main star is not someone I like in the character. But all the characters seemed flat to me. I like the myths that are dreamy and in clean beautiful locations :)

Russel Crowe, hell bent on killing babies in a Hollywood parody of the old testament. Who could ask for more?
