| Excellent movie. Tough to watch some parts as slavery is sickening. A true tribute about a horrific journey of Mr. Northup. This film makes you appreciate life and freedom. |

| Harrowing in places but a great movie depicting a shameful time in American history. It isn't easy to watch, and it shouldn't be. It's a story never to be forgotten. |

| Hate to disagree with the other comments, but this movie was a slow one. Difficult subject matter that was well acted. Too slow for me. |
